Your crown should be cared for much like your natural teeth. Good oral hygiene helps protect not only the restoration, but also the tooth and gums around it.

01 — BRUSH

Brush twice a day using a soft or medium-soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.

Pay particular attention to the area where the crown meets the gum.

02 — CLEAN BETWEEN YOUR TEETH

Floss or use an appropriate interdental cleaner every day.

When cleaning around a crown, be gentle and avoid aggressive movements.

03 — LOOK AFTER YOUR GUMS

Healthy gums are important for the long-term health of the tooth supporting your crown.

If you notice persistent redness, swelling or bleeding, speak with your dentist.

04 — KEEP YOUR CHECK-UPS

Regular dental examinations allow your dentist to monitor:

  • Your crown

  • Your bite

  • Your gums

  • The supporting tooth

  • The surrounding teeth

REMEMBER

Your crown may be artificial.

The tooth supporting it isn't.

Good daily hygiene protects both.
